Data we do NOT collect

The following types of data are never collected, stored, or transmitted to our servers:

  • Keyboard keystrokes all key press detection happens locally in your browser
  • Controller or gamepad inputs processed entirely in your browser
  • Payslip data all salary information, employee names, and company details you enter
  • Any form data entered into our tools
  • Your IP address (beyond standard web server logs see below)
  • Your name, email address, or any personal identifier unless you contact us voluntarily

Data we may collect automatically

Like all websites, our web server may automatically receive and log standard technical information when you visit techtester.online. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This data is held in standard server logs, is not linked to any personal identity, and is used only for diagnosing technical issues and understanding general traffic patterns.

Data you provide voluntarily

If you contact us via our contact form or by email, we receive the information you choose to provide typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used only to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with any third party.

How our tools work

All TechTester tools are designed to process data locally in your browser. This means:

  • The keyboard checker detects key presses using your browser’s keyboard event listeners. No keystroke data is sent to our servers.
  • The Arabic keyboard checker operates identically all key detection is browser local.
  • The gamepad checker uses the Web Gamepad API built into your browser. Controller inputs are read and displayed locally. No controller data is transmitted.
  • The payslip generator processes all entered information in your browser’s memory. When you click Download, the PDF is generated locally using browser-side JavaScript. No payslip data, salary figures, employee names, or company information is sent to our servers at any point.

We have deliberately built our tools this way because we believe your data should stay with you.

Cookies

TechTester currently does not use any tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar third party tracking scripts.

WordPress, our website platform, may set a small number of functional cookies that are necessary for the website to operate correctly — for example, to remember your preferences or to handle security. These cookies do not track you across websites and contain no personally identifiable information.

If we add any additional cookies in the future for example, if we implement analytics we will update this policy and add a cookie consent notice.

Third-party services

TechTester does not currently use any third party advertising networks, affiliate tracking services, or data brokers. We do not display Google AdSense or any other advertising on our site.

Our website is hosted on a third party web hosting provider. Standard server log data (as described in Section 2) is processed by our hosting provider in accordance with their own privacy policy.

If you use a contact form on our site, the form data is processed by our contact form plugin (WPForms or Contact Form 7) and delivered to our email inbox. This data is not stored in any third party CRM or marketing system.

Data retention

Contact form submissions and emails you send us are retained in our email inbox for as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry. We do not retain contact data for marketing purposes. Standard web server logs are typically retained for 30 days before being automatically deleted.

Since our tools do not collect or store user data, there is no user generated data held on our servers to retain or delete.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under applicable data protection law including the right to access personal data we hold about you, the right to correct inaccurate data, the right to have your data deleted, and the right to object to processing.

Because TechTester does not collect personal data beyond voluntary contact information and standard server logs, the practical exercise of these rights is limited. TechTester uses HTTPS encryption for all pages and data transmission between your browser and our web server. Our website hosting provider maintains physical and technical security measures for our servers.
